About: With the tourism boom in the Algarve in the 60s, Hotel Baltum was founded and created in 1968 by the great and charismatic Teófilo Fontainhas Neto. With his entrepreneurial vision believed and understood that the progress of him family company also led by the recovery of the tourism sector. That´s how born the Hotel Baltum. Baltum was the name given by the Romans to this village, which means “sea-locked”. Reason that is the proximity with the ocean or lagoon who’s is formed many times on downtown of the locality. Designed and engineered in 1968 by architect Jose Maria Barros, this hotel makes a magnificent facility, cleverly divided by excellent service areas (laundry, reception and kitchen) and leisure and wellness for customers. The Hotel begins with 26 rooms and 6 suites all with air conditioning, private bathroom and telephone. With a well-balanced and attractive decor this hotel was definitely the hotel of reference in Albufeira in the late 60’s and 70’s also counting with an annex (Annex Hotel Baltum) with 23 rooms, in the famous street of bars.
