Don’t Let Lockdown Get You Down!How to keep yourself active, motivated, fit and happy during COVID-19 lockdown.
At the beginning of the year when we were thinking about New Year’s resolutions which often include getting fitter, we didn’t expect to be stuck at home due to a nasty little virus a few months later.
So how are you coping with lockdown? From chatting with our clients and friends we know some people are actually quite happy. They are content being at home and if they are working from home too they have plenty to keep them occupied. The weather has been good in the UK so those lucky enough to have a garden, patio or balcony are making the most of being outdoors in their own space. Others, of course, are finding it more challenging. Some are by themselves and are a bit lonely, others are on furlough and are struggling to fill the hours and most are just going a bit stir crazy being at home.
Honestly, how many of you have tried to do some exercise but aren’t very motivated? Have you started an online class with good intentions and then found yourself just watching it or fast-forwarding the exercises you don’t like? It is hard keeping motivated.
At fitandhappy in Edinburgh, we love our jobs and our clients and have moved all our classes online. We aren’t just posting classes for you to follow but are actually taking our boot camp classes and personal training sessions online. We use Zoom so that we can see what you are doing and provide constant encouragement. We can still provide feedback and check that your form is correct so that you won’t hurt yourself.
Our clients are joining in from the kitchens, living rooms and gardens.
The best bit is that along with exercise we can still have a chat and laugh and you can chat with your boot camp friends too. Your mental health is as important as your physical health so we love our online groups.
