Novara Counseling is a private therapy practice in San Diego, California, offering compassionate, evidence-based therapy for individuals, couples, teens, and families. Our team helps clients navigate anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, communication difficulties, infidelity, life transitions, self-esteem, stress, family conflict, and emotional disconnection.

Founded and led by Farnaz Safaei, LMFT, Novara Counseling provides a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. Our clinicians use approaches including the Gottman Method, CBT, DBT, psychodynamic and attachment-based therapy, IFS, ACT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, depending on each client’s needs.

We offer in-person therapy at our Sorrento Valley office in San Diego as well as secure telehealth throughout California. Farnaz also provides telehealth services in Florida. We are an out-of-network practice and can provide superbills for clients seeking possible reimbursement through PPO insurance benefits. Free 15-minute consultations are available to help new clients find the right therapist and service.
